an opportunity for students to learn about monetary
policy, consumer education, basic economics, and economic

Fed Challenge
The
FED CHALLENGE Competition promotes economic
literacy by asking students to analyze economic conditions
and recommend an appropriate course for monetary policy.
The competition encourages the development of important
skills such as: research and analysis; decision-making;
argument formulation; and effective communication. High schools, colleges, and community colleges can compete.
LifeSmarts
LifeSmarts, “the ultimate consumer challenge,” is an educational competition that builds the consumer and marketplace knowledge and skills of teenagers. The competition focuses on 4 key areas: technology & the environment, personal finance, consumer rights & responsibilities and health & safety. The teens first compete individually online through their school or organization to qualify to be part of a team of five. The top scoring teams are chosen to compete with other MA schools at the State Championship held here at the Fed. The state champions then go on to an all expense paid trip to compete at the National Competition which is held in a different state each year.
Massachusetts School Bank Association (MSBA) Conference and Competition
This conference is a competition where partnering banks and schools come to compete on topics such as identity theft, the Federal Reserve System, credit, and many other topics.
Reserve Cup 2008
High school teams compete on questions about the economy, personal finance, and consumer affairs.
The 2008 winner was the team from Burlington High School in Burlington, Vermont.
