Biography
Lorenz Goette joined the Bank's Center for Behavioral Economics and Decision-Making as a Senior Economist in December of 2006. Lorenz is a behavioral economist who previously served as an assistant professor at the Institute for Empirical Research in Economics at the University of Zurich, He is a research affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research, London. Goette's research, which uses the experimental approach of behavioral economics, focuses on applications in labor economics. Current projects examine the extent and consequences of downward wage rigidity, and how departures from full intertemporal maximization can impact labor supply in surprising ways.
