The
Program
Financial literacy can help low income
families avoid high cost predatory business practices,
prepare for emergencies, and save for major assets including
housing, education, a car, or starting a business. Many
organizations in Rhode Island and elsewhere are expanding
programs and trying new approaches.
Goals
of the Conference
- Increase understanding of the need for financial
education for low-income families, youth, and immigrants.
- Increase awareness of existing local programs
- Learn about innovative approaches and best practices
- Stimulate the development of effective programs,
partnerships, and more efficient use of resources.
